NAB Connect Payment Limits: Daily Controls & Limit-Breach Approval

NAB Connect lets a business define payment limits that reflect its own operating needs and risk tolerance. Exceeding a configured limit does not simply make a payment disappear; NAB’s current workflow can route the breach for approval before normal authorisation continues.

Analysis

Overall Daily Payment Limit

NAB describes the overall daily limit as the maximum value of payments the business can process in a day. Administrators or eligible Authorising Users can amend this limit.

Analysis

Payment-Type Limits

A business can also choose limits for particular payment types, giving it a way to distinguish routine supplier payments from higher-risk categories.

Analysis

What Happens When a Payment Exceeds the Limit

A payment breaching the configured limit requires approval from an eligible Authorising User or Administrator in addition to the organisation’s normal payment authorisation rules.

Analysis

Limit Design Should Follow Risk

A very high limit improves operational freedom but also increases the amount exposed if controls fail. Limit design should consider normal daily flows, peak payroll periods and escalation procedures.
